Sharing knowledge and best practice
Our CEO Tomaž Gornik was invited as a speaker to two digital healthcare conferences that took place in November and December.
Digital Health Society Summit in Helsinki
The Digital Health Society Summit in Helsinki took place on 11th and 12th December. The event was held under the patronage of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of Europe. The Finnish Digital system journey over the last 25 years was presented as well as health and wellbeing data for service improvement, research and development. The event also featured showcases of digital transformation, gatherings of ECHAlliance Ecosytems and the launch of four new Finnish Ecosystems.
The event attracted organisations from over 19 Countries. It included startups, SMEs, national and international companies as well as policy makers, academics and a variety of Health associations and NGOs.
Tomaž Gornik, Better CEO, discussed next generation EHR systems based on vendor-neutral data persistence:
“Today, healthcare is changing rapidly and current monolithic applications cannot cope with these dynamics. Furthermore, the lifecycle of applications and data is different – no application will outlive a person, so we need to separate data from applications. The data should be stored in vendor-neutral format and available for use in various different applications.”
