Better to provide a clinical registry application Pathfinder for the international CATTEDRA project
The project will research children immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.
Italian Children's hospital IRCCS Burlo Garofolo in Trieste and Division of Paediatrics, University Medical Centre Ljubljana in Slovenia joint forces along with technological partners in participating in the international CATTEDRA project. Through collaboration, partners aim to improve treatment in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID) in children. Better will provide a clinical registry application based on Better Platform, the leading openEHR-based clinical data platform. Using Pathfinder, all parties will be able to obtain, store and analyse health data to obtain comprehensive insights for monitoring and treatment.
"We are thrilled to be part of this project, in which the two leading paediatrics institutions in the region are going to co-create treatment improvements. Our application will enable a safe exchange of good practices and information on treatment success while allowing the use of data for research purposes," said Tina V. Vavpotič, Product Manager at Better.
Children with IMID require huge diagnostic and therapeutic efforts to improve their health. These diseases present a high burden for their families and affect the quality of their lives on all levels, as well. Therefore, it is crucial to make every step necessary to improve the standards of their care.
The CATTEDRA project will establish patient-centred diagnostics methods that will provide accurate data to select a personalised treatment. It will enable knowledge exchange and research results between general practitioners, specialists, other healthcare professionals and patient associations.
The solution is based on Better Platform, the leading openEHR-based clinical data platform. A common data warehouse will allow for cross-border and inter-institutional comparison of diagnostic tests used in the program and utilisation of different analytical capabilities.
Partners in the projects are Children's hospital IRCCS Burlo Garofolo in Trieste, Italy, Division of Paediatrics, University Medical Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Italian tech company Experteam, Slovenian Centre of Excellence for Biosensors, Instrumentation and Process Control COBIK, and Better.
